We’re delighted to chat with long-time customer Juliette Lepoutre, a French-Canadian naturopath specializing in candidiasis. Candidiasis is an infection caused by a fungus: Candida (often Candida albicans). This fungus lives naturally in our bodies, but when the balance is disturbed (dysbiosis), it can multiply excessively and cause an infection.
In this interview, Juliette explains her background and key recommendations.
Who are you, in a few words?
I’m French-Canadian, I live in Montreal and I’ve been a naturopath specializing in candida care since 2019.
I’m the author of the FreeCocotte website, the ebook Votre Régime Anti-Candidose, the support program Sortir de la Candidose, and I have a YouTube channel dedicated to candidiasis and dysbiosis.
Outside of work, I’m mostly interested in sports: windsurfing, skiing, cross-country skiing, dancing, kayaking or cycling,… I often say that I like it when my life resembles a UCPA course!
Why did you create FreeCocotte?
Originally, FreeCocotte was a blog of sugar-free, gluten-free and dairy-free recipes, which I had created for my consulting clients, to whom I often advised to reduce these 3 elements (notably for dermatological, digestive or ENT concerns…).
I wanted to offer them simple, quick but tasty ideas to facilitate this dietary change without frustration. Then my practice naturally specialized in candidiasis.
I then enriched the site with in-depth articles, videos, practical guides… and little by little, FreeCocotte became a space mainly dedicated to the anti-candidosis diet and protocol.
What’s your dietary philosophy in a nutshell?

My dietary approach consists in finding the right balance between a framework that is sufficiently structuring to soothe symptoms and restart the virtuous circles (digestion, energy, hormones, immunity, morale…), while preserving as much as possible the pleasure, simplicity and social life of everyday life.
More concretely, here are a few tips I give for people with digestive problems:
– simple, easily digestible meals
– avoid nibbling or staggering meals, so as not to interrupt the digestive system’s cleansing cycles
– maximum mastication, an under-estimated axis of great power to alleviate any digestive symptoms (and even many other symptoms…)
– a balanced intake of carbohydrates + proteins + fats at every meal, and eating 3 meals a day to stabilize energy, appetite, thyroid, vitality…
And to put this into practice, on my blog you’ll find some really simple recipes: recipes whose ingredients are easy to find, which require no special equipment, and which the whole family can enjoy.
How did you discover chlorella?
I really discovered chlorella during my naturopathy studies in 2016. I’d never used it before.
It soon found its way into my anti-candidosis protocols, as I was looking for a chelator of heavy metal chelator that was both gentle and powerful, capable of providing in-depth support for the terrain before, during and after the use of antifungal agents.
And as for eChlorial, it was a customer who first told me about it! I was immediately a fan of your company and your products, because I was aware that chlorella has to be of impeccable purity to be truly beneficial.
What benefits do you derive from it and why do you recommend it?
I recommend chlorella since 2019 because it addresses several key issues in candidiasis: it’s a gentle but effective heavy metal chelator, which is essential for improving the terrain, without causing a sometimes disabling or even dangerous die-off effect.
It also acts on constipation, from which a large proportion of my clients suffer.
Many of my customers also notice an improvement in their energy levels, as well as a visible improvement in their skin and hair, 2 subjects that are often problematic for them.
Its high chlorophyll content also makes it a direct ally against candida albicans (see also article: Chlorella, Antifungal).
And depending on the individual, the benefits can actually be quite varied, as the terrain is modified.
For me, the effects have been very striking: exceptional hair shine, which I’m often told about, but also a rather unexpected result on my circulation, with the complete disappearance of heavy legs in summer.
Do you have a quote or saying that guides your work?
I often have this sentence by Paracelsus in mind:
“Everything is poison, nothing is poison: only the dose makes the poison.”
Paracelsus
It’s a simple but profound truth that sums up my vision of health. This quote reminds me that extremes don’t work.
In fact, I’m now a fan of the “middle way”, which in my opinion is the only way to achieve lasting healing.
I’m not saying it’s easy, but I think it’s the key!
